My Car Doc firmly believes in helping one another, that’s just what good neighbors do. From a simple donation of a few minutes of our time to a financial gift, every little bit touches the lives of those around us. Here are a few of organizations that My Car Doc likes to help whenever possible, and your help makes the giving so much greater.

• Zombie Walk for Gleaners: Family-friendly Halloween fun! Each year in October, Zombies roam Broad Ripple for one day. Bring donations for Gleaners Food Bank and on-site make-up artists will transform you and your family into the walking dead!
• The Pourhouse: This is fantastic local charity that is dedicated to helping the homeless and underprivileged people in our area, no matter their race, sex, or age. Find out more at www.PourHouse.org
• School Supplies Drive: Every September/August we have a school supplies drive to help needy kids at the beginning of the school year to get the supplies they need to learn. We all complain about the economy and such, but the best way to change it is to invest in the future…..the kids of our great nation. People who donate supplies receive reduced priced services from My Car Doc or gift certificates for future services from us.
• Coat Drive: Every October, we support the Burlington Coat Factory’s coat drive to help the needy during winter. If you donate a coat, receive $5 off any service w/My Car Doc or a $5 certificate for your next service!
• Toy Drive: Every November, if you donate a toy or two to Toys for Tots or the Salvation Army’s toy drive, we’ll discount your service $2/toy for helping make a child’s holiday that much more special.

Also, I’d like to set something up where we accept sports cards, racing cards, fantasy art cards, Yugi-Oh! cards, comics and the like to donate to a local orphanage. At first, we’d do this during the Christmas/Hannuka season but if it grows large enough, we could do it twice a year. I’d LOVE to have a local comic or card shop work with us on this. If anyone can help or knows a contact in the business or who manages a consignment shop, thrift shop, toy shop, please let us know and hopefully we can really make a difference!
